Hardie Holdings
The Hardie Holdings Group of Companies is a private Australian entity, formed 20 years ago and wholly owned by interests associated with Duncan Hardie - a well-known and respected identity in the Australian property market.
Whilst the jewel in the Hardie Holdings' crown is the re-zoned Hunter Economic Zone (HEZ), which is now the largest contiguous business estate in Australia, the group's interests and land holdings extend into re-zoning and subdivision of land, industrial, tourism and commercial developments.
Duncan Hardie was quick to see the untapped potential of areas to the North of Sydney, particularly the Hunter Region, with Hardie Holdings now having far-reaching, diverse interests throughout the area.
The ambitious Hunter Economic Zone project has been the passion of Duncan Hardie, who in 1997 took the project through an exhaustive process that saw the site re-zoned in 2002.
Hardie Holdings retains the majority ownership in the HEZ project. Duncan Hardie is also the Chairman of HEZ Nominees as trustee for the HEZ Unit Trust. Duncan is confident that the HEZ Unit Trust will become one of Australia's largest property investment trusts.
